The aims of this program are:

  1. To become reflective practitioners who are able to assess changing social needs and adapt their own performance accordingly.
  2. To become self-directed learners, recognising personal educational needs, selecting appropriate learning resources and evaluating progress.
  3. To develop specialised knowledge and skills at an advanced level to match up with the emerging social needs and problems in all their complexity and extensiveness.

Academic Qualification

Applicants should possess:

  1. a bachelor’s degree in Social Work* from a recognised university or equivalent

           (Usually a good second class degree is required, but applicants with outstanding work experience may be considered)


Language Proficiency Requirement

Proof of English proficiency is required for all applicants whose Bachelor’s/Master’s degrees are obtained from non-English medium institutions. These applicants must meet the following minimum requirements for English proficiency:

  1. an overall band score of 6.0 in International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or
  2. a score of 537 (paper-based test) or 74 (internet-based test) in TOEFL; or
  3. an equivalent score on a comparable test.

Others

Preferably with 2 years of work experience in the field of social work or equivalent.
