This program includes the theoretical and technical understanding, attitudes and skills to work with a wide range of people who have disabilities. Speech pathologists assess and treat individuals in all groups that have a communication disability. This includes people that suffer from pronunciation, articulation, speech, voice, and fluency as well as consuming issues. Bachelor of Speech Pathology studies contain health science issues, anatomy/physiology and specialised areas such as linguistics, phonetics, and current professional topics. There is a special focus on remote and rural practice. Clinical trials are undertaken in many different settings.
Speech Pathology Australia
- Year 12 or equivalent
- English (Units 3/4,C), plus one of sciences, chemistry, physics, health (Components 3/4,C). Students must meet requirements such as positioning: immunisation
- Current Provide First Aid Certificate
- Suitability to Work with Children Card (Blue Card)
- Australian Federal Police check.
