Molde University College - Specialized University in Logistics, started a new MSc program in Team Sport Management in mid August 2011. By establising this program, HiMolde complemented its regular bachelor's program in Sport Management held in Norwegian (not open to international applicants), and the international MSc program in Event Management that startet in 2010. From the admission in 2014, the program was renamed: MSc in Sport Management.

The MSc program in Sport Management is of 2 years duration (120 ECTS credits, 4 semesters), and consists of 90 credits course work, and a master's thesis of 30 credits. The program is designed to prepare students to work in management positions in the sport and sport-related industry. It intends to convey a solid understanding and knowledge about sport management as it is practised in the European context, and introduce the students to legal, ethical, economical, organisational, historical, political and psychological topics necessary to meet the demands of this growing industry. With its two concentrations: "Managing Football" and "Marketing, Media and Sponsorship" in the second year, the MSc program in Sport Management offers an opportunity for students to choose different study options.

The curriculum for the MSc in Sport Management includes the following courses of totally 60 credits in the first year-

* Forms of Organization & Management - 15 ECTS
* Introduction to Sport & Event Economics - 7.5 ECTS
* Philosophy of Science & Research Methods - 7.5 ECTS
* Sport History - 7.5 ECTS
* Advanced Sport & Event Economics - 7.5 ECTS
* Event Organization - 7.5 ECTS
* Sport and Event Marketing - 7.5 ECTS

In addition to these courses, the students take 5 seminars (15 ECTS), an internship (15 ECTS) and a master's thesis (30 ECTS) in the second year:
* Option 1: "Football Management": 5 Football Management Seminars
* Option 2: "Marketing, Media and Sponsorship (MMS) - 5 MMS Seminars
* Internship
* Master's Thesis

Applicants should preferably hold a recognised first degree (BBA, BA, BSc), equivalent to a minimum of 180 ECTS credits, in Sport Management/ Sport Sciences, Business Administration, Social Sciences (Economy, Sociology, Political Science or History) or other relevant academic disciplines to apply for the MSc program in Sport Management.For detailed information about the English language requirements for admission (IELTS: Minimum of 6.0) or TOEFL: Minimum of 550 paper based test/ 213 computer based test/ 79 internet based test, and the possibilities for exemption for some groups of applicants, particulary applicants from some of the African countries, please see the information at our English home page- www.himolde.no. Admission to our international master's programs is highly competitive, and applicants should preferably have completed their bachelor's degree with an average grade of Excellent or Very Good, or at least a minimum average grade of Good/grade C or equivalent (Like First Class or Second Class Upper Division or equivalent grades). Applicants with only a HND (Higher National Diploma) or similar Diploma Education are not eligible to apply for admission to our international MSc programs.Qualified female applicants are encouraged to apply for admission.

No tuition fees. Both Norwegian and international students only pay a minor semester fee of approximately NOK 695 at the beginning of each semester. International applicants with Individual Funding who are citizens of countries not belonging to EU/EEA/EFTA, and where a visa is required to enter Norway and Schengen, must first document a minimum of NOK 104 080 per academic year to cover for their own living expenses in the first academic year of the MSc program with their applications for admission, and before they are admitted to the MSc program in Sport Management. If later admitted to the MSc program, these applicants will be requested to transfer a minimum of NOK 104 080 to our Deposit Account for International Students.
