Statistics

Specialization degrees provide a more focused education in one area of study. You will take most of your courses in one main subject area, and are expected to maintain a higher standard of academic achievement than those in the General program. Specialization degrees can provide the background to help you proceed to a higher degree, but its primary function is to provide a comprehensive education at the undergraduate level.The Specialization program in Statistics is for students interested in applying Statistics to a second discipline. Students in this program must choose one distinct field of application. Recommended fields of application are Agriculture, Chemical Engineering, Computing Science, Economics, Education, Genetics, Health Sciences Administration, Pharmacology, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Zoology. Students may, in consultation with the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences, select a different field of application than those listed above. Students study statistical theory and methods as well as apply their knowledge in their chosen field of application.
