This application, by a mixture of research and coursework, enables surgical trainees to complete their postgraduate degree at no less than twelve months of full-time study or two years part-time. It is intended to match the practical experience made by students throughout the hospital based training application of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Graduates will acquire understanding of epidemiological methods, biostatistics, literature hunting and controlled trials for its clinical researcher, in addition to an comprehension of laboratory based methodology for people with a prospective interest in this academic surgical pursuit.
