In addition to this degree, you may obtain formal qualifications which you eligible to show kids aged 5 to 12 years into public, religious and individual schools. This level produces high-quality teachers using an understanding of diversity in the class room with strong connections to faculty communities. This program focuses on building teaching skills through a qualified experience training program on your very first semester, and regular expert experience periods throughout the degree. You will complete 60 days of expert experience (PEX), including the option to accomplish one PEX in a rural or remote region of NSW. Additionally, there are opportunities to tackle international immersion programs that, whilst not counted as a PEX, allow you to traveling overseas, see schools and develop your understanding of cultures and people. UOW's School of Education has been acknowledged as a leader in the area of teacher education over Australia. You will be encouraged by means of your teacher preparation by our teaching team, Professional Experience Unit and through our mentored interview program, which prepares one for the employment.

This level is accredited and recognised as a national expert teaching eligibility. Students seeking work out NSW or Australia are advised to check with potential employers and other educator registration authorities to get any additional requirements. All students completing a NSW teacher education class has to pass approved literacy and numeracy tests before starting their Expert Experience.

Entry requirements contain: A undergraduate degree comparable to a Australian bachelor degree with a minimum charge average level, which meets the needs of the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) for teaching at primary schools. The NESA requirements will be assessed by the institution of Education upon use. A legal IELTS is demanded if the degree Wasn't completed in English from Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, United States of America, Canada and the Republic of Ireland. Students who have studied overseas may be asked to meet additional requirements set by the NSW Education Standards Authority in order to qualify as teachers from NSW.
