Telecommunications Network Build and Operation

This is an entrylevel certificate for telecommunications linesworkers taking care of the building and upkeep of high speed domestic broadband network (NBN) infrastructure.Linesworkers may:perform infrastructure and cable work underground, which might involve civil and structure work such as site preparation, building of enclosures, installing mounting brackets and distributing Under Ground cableswork above ground to install fibre or metallic aerial cable and infrastructure, which may also have installing aerial lead in cables to customer assumptions and providing traffic management.Licensing/Regulatory Information Work functions in the occupational areas where this qualification may be used may be susceptible to regulatory requirements. Consult with the ICT Information and Communications Technology Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the appropriate regulator for details of licensing, legislative or certification requirements.Cabling on the side of the network termination device must be carried out according to requirements of the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) and appropriate industry registration bodies, and also in accordance with the specifications of their access network owner.
