The Leeds MBA is among the most progressive in the UK, at one of the most prestigious universities in the world, located in a dynamic, vibrant city. Our one year Full-time MBA exposes you to the latest management thinking and practice that will accelerate your career. Our part-time Executive MBA covers the same ground over an extended time period to allow you to combine work with study.
Full-time MBA
The traditional MBA is a well-recognised academic degree for managers and professionals with work experience. But now the world is more connected, more challenging and dynamic. Employers want more from their managers not simply knowledge and strategic thinking, but also leadership skills, commitment and creativity. This changing environment calls for a more innovative approach.
The Leeds MBA full-time programme not only integrates business and management theory with practice, but it also puts great emphasis on your personal and professional development. We have worked with our Leaders in Residence to develop an MBA that stretches you academically but also builds in you the key qualities expected of leaders including commercial awareness, interpersonal skills, a genuine depth of understanding of the fundamental business functions and a critical and questioning outlook.
The programme features a set of challenges that allow you to apply what you have learned to significant business issues and for many of our students the MBA Project is the most exciting and rewarding part of their MBA experience. You will gain an international outlook and build connections - helping you to become a global leader with cross cultural work groups and our MBA international study tours. There is also plenty of opportunity to get to know your MBA colleagues socially.
We deliberately limit the total number of students in the cohort to ensure that in your time here you are not just a number, but an individual with a specific agenda that we strive to embrace and address in the programme. At the same time we cultivate as diverse a group as possible. On the course you will meet fellow students from all over the globe with a wide range of experience and expertise. Your interactions with your fellow students are a key element of your learning experience with us.
The combination of these elements develop you intellectually, personally and professionally so that you take the unique Leeds way of thinking into the workplace.
Executive MBA
Our part-time Executive MBA has been ranked top in the North in The Economist 2013 rankings as well as being 3rd in the world for salary and 7th in the UK for career development.
The Leeds Executive MBA is flexible enough so you can fit it in around your work, whilst giving you time away from the office to fully focus on your studies. It is delivered in intensive three day blocks Thursday to Saturday, every six weeks with a few modules delivered over four days, Thursday to Sunday. The majority of teaching takes place at our impressive executive conference facility, Weetwood Hall.
Following induction you will study core and option modules. You also have the opportunity to take part in international study tours. The majority of assessment is by work-based assignments, allowing you to develop a more strategic understanding of your organisation by focusing your work on a specific management problem or issue. This will directly benefit your organisation. You also undertake 3 live challenges. The MBA Project will usually address a problem or task that has senior management priority and could also be beneficial to your organisation.
