In Therapeutic Recreation youпПХll learn to work with individuals with physical or developmental disabilities, older adults, at-risk-youth, and other groups to ensure that they have access to meaningful recreation and leisure opportunities that help maximize their independence and quality of life.Practical courses, volunteer placements, and internships provide experience in clinical and community settings. YouпПХll examine how to plan leisure opportunities for special populations, and examine how to effectively integrate people with special needs into the community. As a graduate, you can work with clients in settings ranging from long-term care facilities to local community agencies.
