Veterinary Nursing

This qualification reflects the function of a senior veterinary nurse who works under the supervision of a registered vet, to provide leadership to staff and also advanced level nursing care for creatures including applying specialist abilities and in-depth comprehension to patient assessment, management and care in an veterinary workplace. The Diploma of Veterinary Nursing requires access and regular experience of patients (animals), customers, consults, surgical and medical situations, veterinary staff, nursing, and practice policies and procedures.To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 240 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.The scope of practice for veterinary nurses is determined by state and territory legislative and regulatory requirements. Clients of this qualification must make reference to this regulations and laws from the development of training and assessment plans.
