The Masters Programme in Computer and Systems Sciences provides students with an opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in relevant areas in preparation for a successful professional or research career.

Within the programme, there are a number of recommended specialisation tracks to choose from. Students interested in contributing to a more sustainable and less vulnerable information society can select the Information security track. If you are interested in managing globally distributed teams developing IT services the track Global delivery model will interest you. In this track you will learn to deal with cultural differences, entrepeneurship and management as well as governance and compliance related to global IT projects.

Students who would rather focus on methods and techniques for collecting, organizing and analyzing data to support decision making might choose the Business Intelligence track. The track Information and Knowledge Systems Design and Architecture prepares students for work such as enterprise architect, database architect or technology consultant. Students may also go outside the specialisation tracks and combine different courses to tailor their education to their specific needs.

The programme provides students with a deeper knowledge of theories and methods, and also practical skills in the area or areas they have chosen. In addition, the programme includes general courses on scientific communication and research methodology that prepare students for thesis work and a possible research career.

The Master's Programme in Computer and Systems Sciences at Stockholm University is very diverse and offers you the opportunity to select a specialization or a track that best suits your goals and ambitions. Possible specializations include, but are not limited to, design methodology, current problems within IT, system development, algorithms and programming languages, information security and threats, artificial intelligence, business intelligence, ethical and quality assessment and project leadership. Additionally, you learn the foundations of theory of science and scientific methodology.

General requirements for Master's programmes:- An academic degree (i.e. a Bachelors degree or the equivalent, at least 180 ECTS.) Stockholm University does accept applicants in their last year of Bachelor's studies. See note below: Previous university records- Proficiency in English, which must be demonstrated in one of the following ways: * IELTS score (Academic) of 6.5 or more (with no section scoring below 5.5) * TOEFL score 20 in written test, total score of 90 (internet based) * TOEFL score 4,5 in written test, total score of 575 (paperbased) * Cambridge/Oxford - Advanced or Proficiency levelTOEFL test scores must be sent directly from Educational Testing Service (ETS), to University Admissions in Sweden (institution code: SWEDEN 3477). English language test exemptions Some students may be exempt from submitting formal test evidence. These are: * Students who have a Bachelor's degree from a university where English is the only language of instruction, according to the latest edition of International Handbook of Universities. * Students who have a Bachelor's degree (a Swedish Kandidatexamen or equivalent academic qualifications) with English as the major subject. * Students with a 4-year university degree in Engineering, Science or Technology from India and Pakistan. * Students who have 30 HE credits from a Nordic country and the language of instruction of the course/programme/university is English.
