The Masters degree in Finance is suitable for those intending to develop their careers in finance, broadly defined as corporate finance, security analysis, portfolio management, options and futures, treasury management, the functioning of financial institutions and markets, and financial decision-taking in the public sector.

The course also allows for the possibility of specialisation in finance for developing countries.

The taught component of the course will be covered in the first two semesters (October - May).

The examinations for all classes will take place at the end of the semester in which they are offered, in January and June respectively. The distribution of the classes across the two taught semesters is given below.

The research component of the course will take up the third (summer) semester. A core class implies that this is compulsory for the programme. All four courses follow a common first semester and each course follows a different second semester introducing the specialisation. All three courses follow a common third semester.

UK students are required to have a good honours degree (2.1 preferred) or equivalent (in economics, accounting, business studies, maths, statistics, or computing) or an equivalent professional qualification.Overseas students' qualifications will be judged on an equivalent basis.In addition to academic qualifications, you must also be able to show that you have a sufficient grasp of English. If English is not your first language you will need to provide evidence of your proficiency before you can begin the course, and you are strongly advised to take the IELTS or the TOEFL test examination.
