In parallel with the rising importance of seamanship in recent years, yacht production has increased all over the world. Together with a few other countries, Turkey is in the front rank in this sector, especially when considering the production of luxury yachts. Although every year new shipyards and marinas are opened, magazines in this field are published and marine fairs are organized, there is a large need for and a lack of human resources in its design field.
Considering the above, a Yacht design program has been opened at Izmir University of Economics. In this way the future graduates will be able to contribute, propose and manage innovative designs solution, develop and improve the related materials and technologies, and solve and manage the various processes in the field of Yacht Design.
The program accepts students from the related departments of both engineering and design faculties, and collaborates with many national and international individuals and institutions.
