Communication is much more than the words you say. Furthermore, cultural communication involves much more than just using your native tongue. There is no such thing as saying exactly what you mean, and neither is there any such thing as hearing exactly what was said. The barrier to understanding can seem insurmountable when you consider how different cultures define the boundaries between social and professional interactions, provide and receive feedback, and engage in and handle conflict. You will gain the ability to identify your own communication style and how it may be interpreted in ways that you did not intend. Next, we'll look at how to successfully incorporate various cultural norms into your communications and how to coin a completely new language.
