ESCP Europe (full name: French: École supérieure de commerce de Paris) is a French-European business school with campuses in Paris, Berlin, London, Madrid, Turin, and Warsaw. Accredited by the Paris Chamber of Commerce, ESCP Europe is one of the 76 schools in the world to have obtained the triple accreditation of AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.
Knowledge creation and transmission are in the hands of the school’s over 155 full-time faculty members working across the 6 campuses. Each faculty member belongs to a teaching department and one or more research centres. The same faculty teams develop the curriculum and deliver the courses across all the programmes of the school, from degree programmes to executive programmes.
All faculty members hold a doctorate or equivalent degree, most in management science, others in economics, law or the social and human sciences. The activities of our faculty members reach across three domains: teaching, research and academic programme leadership (i.e. academic responsibility for one or several teaching programmes). Moreover, each faculty member has one day per week for consulting activities, either for business firms or other private or public organisations requiring their services.
The Turin Campus has strong relationships with a number of national and international companies which contribute to its governance. The campus serves both students - 420 from more than 35 different countries - with Masters Programmes and the business community, with a complete offer of executive education, applied research and entrepreneurship services.
The ESCP Italian headquarter became since the beginning an important opportunity for our business school to move further to companies on the Italian territory, which found in ESCP Turin Campus a valuable partner for the training of their talents.
These strong links with the business community are one of the key characteristics of the Italian campus: over half of its activities are with the corporate world.
The Turin Chamber of Commerce and Compagnia di San Paolo support ESCP by funding institutional activities and scholarships.
With regard to article 1, paragraph 125 of Law 124/2017, the grants (contributions, paid mandates, economic benefits) received from public administrations are summarised below: € 35,000 deposited on 05.03.2019 by CCIAA of Turin, CF. 80062130010 with headquarters in Via Carlo Alberto 16, Turin, for the financial support of the institutional activities of the Turin Campus.
Established in 1819, the world’s first business school, ESCP Europe was founded by a group of economic scholars and businessmen including the well-known economist Jean-Baptiste Say and the celebrated trader Vital Roux. Jean-Baptiste Say was an advocate of economic liberalism and is often credited with having coined the concept of entrepreneurship as early as 1800. Vital Roux is particularly known for having largely contributed to the elaboration of the Commercial Code in 1807 as well as for his up-front thinking in innovative pedagogy. One can therefore say that the creation of ESCP Europe represents the invention of the "business school" concept.
Although the ESCP Europe brand evolved over its almost 200 years of history, it always remained loyal to its first three letters. Starting in 1819 under the name Ecole Spéciale de Commerce et d’Industrie and soon after renamed Ecole Supérieure de Commerce, it developed to ESCP fifty years later in 1869. After merging with its sister school, the European School of Management (EAP), in 1999, the school was called ESCP-EAP for about a decade. Finally in 2009, the school’s name turned into ESCP Europe, making explicit reference to its European heritage and positioning.
The Turin Campus, founded in 2004, is a young campus who experienced rapid growth. With the enthusiasm of a start-up, it firmly believes in entrepreneurship and the strong development of successful initiatives.
