Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (English: Catholic University of the Sacred Heart or Catholic University of Milan), known as UCSC or UNICATTor simply Cattolica, is an Italian private research university founded in 1921. Cattolica, with its five affiliated campuses, is the largest private university in Europe and the largest Catholic University in the world.Its main campus is located in Milan, Italy, with satellite campuses in Brescia, Piacenza, Cremona and Rome.
The most important Catholic University in Europe and the only Italian University to boast an impressive national network with our five Campuses in Milan, Piacenza, Cremona, Brescia and Rome, where the Policlinico Universitario “A. Gemelli”.The univercity is esteemed for academic excellence, integrated in the European tradition as a place of cultural formation, able to contemplate and interpret the complexity of the society in which we live: a mission that translates into an educational syllabus focused on the formation of the person as a whole.
In the last 100 years the university shaped a significant quota of country's establishment: eminent representatives of institutions, politics and law, academics and intellectuals, entrepreneurs and managers, teachers and professionals, bishops, journalists, publishers and writers. Plus, many others, known and less known, who have helped to promote the prestigious reputation of Università Cattolica in Europe and around the world.
The University is organized into 12 faculties and 7 postgraduate schools. Cattolica provides undergraduate courses (Bachelor's degree, which corresponds to Italian Laurea Triennale), graduate courses (Master's degree, which corresponds to Laurea Magistrale, and specializing master) and PhD programs (Dottorati di ricerca). In addition to these, the University runs several double degree programs with other institutions throughout the world. Degrees are offered both in Italian and in English.
The Cattolica, according to a study of International Student Barometer, survey of a sample of 65 universities in Europe, is the second in Europe and fourth position at the international level among the most recommended universities by foreign students.

General, specialist (gynecology, ophthalmology, diet) and preventative medical examinations are available to students. During the center's opening hours, the Nursing Service is always on hand to administer first aid, medication, and prescribed drugs, measure blood pressure, take body temperature, provide information about local health services, and give health advice. Access is free, no appointment needed.For specialized care: ophthalmology, gynecology, dermatology, visits are by appointment only.
The International Student Services Office assists exchange / study abroad / double degree international students from the very first contact and throughout the students experience at Cattolica. The support services include assistance with admissions, registration, housing, academic advising, access to health and welfare services, visa and residency permit applications and financial questions.
Every degree-seeking student enrolled at the university will be paired with a tutor, whose responsibility is to assist him/her with integrating the university environment and to provide support in case of need. More specifically the tutor can help with questions regarding the degree curriculum and requirements, the scheduling of exam dates or sessions, the university services, and assist in solving any administrative difficulty encountered. The overall role of the tutor is also to encourage the formation of study groups.
As in any university, the library is the place where study, research and cultural contact all meet. The library system of the Università Cattolica is one of the most prestigious in Italy.
Computer halls around campus allow for internet access either on fixed desktops or personal laptops (wall connection or Wi-Fi if available). 17 computer rooms are usually open all day until 9:00 PM. Cattolica provides wi-fi in areas of the main building. Some areas of the main cloisters have wi-fi from 7.00 am until 10.00pm.
The Servizio Linguistico di Ateneo (SeLdA) offers a variety of support language courses to International and Italian Students, to faculty and staff. Currently the Language Centre also offers language training and instruction in the following languages: Italian, French, Chinese, Spanish, Russian and German.
The CUS (Centro Universitario Sportivo) has 11 division teams, athletics, rugby, tennis, sailing, swimming and water polo, ice hockey, rowing, canoeing, volleyball, softball and basketball, and a number of fitness courses that are open to any student at any level. CUS Milano is the perfect place for anyone who loves sport: it offers the chance to participate in the various activity sections and sports clubs either on a recreational or a competitive basis. And that's not all: CUS Milano also organises tournaments between the various university faculties, and both summer and winter international sports meetings with representatives of foreign universities and campuses.
The musical community “Note d’inChiostro” offers to all students and international students the possibility to follow a music-cultural itinerary, with the collaboration of some of the professors of the Athaeneum together with some experts of the concerned disciplines.
UCSC International in collaboration with ESN is offering International Students the opportunity to join the Buddy Program. The Buddy Program is aimed at creating the opportunity for International Students to meet Cattolica domestic students in order to simplify the transition into the campus life and to help them get the best out of their cultural and social life during their study abroad experience. In addition, the program encourages Cattolica domestic students, offering them the opportunity to meet International Students, whilst developing intercultural communication and linguistic exchange. International Students will receive specific communication before their arrival inviting them to subscribe to the Buddy Program if they are interested in having a UCSC Mentor.
