Psychology Studies is one of the most popular and prospective discipline in contemporary changing and challenging world. If you feel willingness to help other people and interested in the structure of  human consciousness, you should probably consider applying for a Psychology Studies program.

Undergraduate study programs in Psychology Studies usually last from three to four years. The education process usually includes one or several internships, which will help in graduates’ future employment.

The study program can be focused on the theoretical part of psychology and research or on the practical part - either BA, MA (Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts) or BS, MS (Bachelor of Science, Master of Science) program.

The program structure also depends on the emphasis of the chosen program: it can be focused on one of subdisciplines of Psychology Studies, which include clinical psychology, neuropsychology, educational psychology, forensic and criminal psychology, etc.

Entry requirements for undergraduate applicants

Although the entry requirements depend on the chosen university, usually there aren’t any specific requirements for applicants for Psychology studies. Psychology unites humanities and sciences, so applicants should show interest in both areas. A strong academic record (especially in Mathematics and science) is always required.

International applicants should prove their language proficiency by submitting the TOEFL or IELTS results.

Future career

The most popular career path after getting a degree in Psychology - is becoming a psychologist. Graduates can start private practice or work for public or private institutions. Chartered psychologists are allowed to start their career after getting a Masters Degree in Psychology.

Another available career path for a graduate is psychotherapy, which is a very diverse area: graduates can work as art therapists, musical therapists, life coaches, family therapists and physical therapists.

Graduates can also start their research and teaching activity as they hold a PhD degree in Psychology.

Graduates who do not want to hold a Masters degree can start their career in the following areas: public and private healthcare, education, mental health support, social work, therapy and counseling. A Degree in Psychology can be useful in business, management, advertising, public relations, media and any other sphere related to communication with people.
