RDI started life as a family-owned business in 1990, giving learners worldwide an opportunity to further their education through flexible distance learning.

As an increasing number of students trusted us with their education and future, we kept growing with them and in April 2014 we were awarded Taught Degree-Awarding Powers. This meant that alongside providing higher education qualifications through our University Partners, we could also award our own degrees. In August 2015 we officially became Arden University – the only specialist distance (online) learning university to launch in the UK in the last 50 years.

We offer a wide range of Higher Education courses endorsed by professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Chartered Management Institute and the Association of Project Managers, as well as a Qualifying Law Degree – one of only five institutions in the UK to provide this course via online distance learning!

Although many things have changed, our core values remain the same: to provide wide access to education and change people’s world through innovative, modern learning.

Admission requirements at Arden University typically include a completed application form, relevant educational qualifications such as A-levels or equivalent, and evidence of English language proficiency for international students, such as IELTS or equivalent tests. Applicants are often required to provide previous academic transcripts and may need to meet specific subject prerequisites depending on the chosen course. Work experience may also be considered in some programs, especially for mature students.

The application process generally involves submitting an online application through the Arden University website, followed by a review of academic credentials and possibly an interview or personal statement. For international applicants, additional documentation such as a copy of passport and proof of funding may be necessary. Arden University offers flexible admission pathways, including recognition of prior learning and credit transfer options to accommodate students’ academic backgrounds. The university aims to provide equal opportunities, and all applications are evaluated fairly against the program requirements.

Candidates are advised to check specific course prerequisites and deadlines on the university’s official website or contact admissions directly for personalized guidance. Once accepted, students receive an offer letter, after which they can proceed with registration and enrollment. Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is a professional accountancy body which works all over the world to build the profession and make society fairer and more transparent.

When an institution is accredited by ACCA, one or more of their courses has been assessed by ACCA’s professional qualifications approvals team and exemptions are then awarded accordingly.

At Arden, our BSc Accounting and Finance was awarded the maximum nine exemptions. Therefore, students who go on to complete the ACCA professional qualifications after studying our accredited BSc course will start their studies at an appropriate level, rather than starting afresh.

Association for Project Management (APM)

The Association for Project Management is a body committed to developing and promoting project management. Academic accreditation is designed to help students and professionals choose the best academic education in support of their professional project management career. Our MSc Project Managementis accredited by the APM which means you will leave with a certificate that recognises your knowledge in both academic and recognised professional fields.

British Psychological Society (BPS)

The British Psychological Society is the representative body for psychology and psychologists in the UK. They are responsible for the development, promotion and application of psychology for the public good. Our BSc (Hons) Psychology is accredited by the BPS. This means that successful graduates obtaining at least a lower second class honours degree will be eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) - the requirement to train as a professional psychologist. Whilst you are actively studying with us, we will cover the cost of your student membership with the BPS. This gives you access to a great range of resources.

Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)

The Chartered Institute of Marketing is the world’s largest organisation for professional marketers. It plays a key role in setting industry standards. We offer CIM accredited masters including an MSc Data Analytics and Marketing and an MA Strategic Marketing. The cost of the CIM Affiliate Membership is included while you are actively studying with us, which gives you access to a range of great resources.

Chartered Management Institute (CMI)

The Chartered Management Institute promotes excellence in UK management and leadership. We offer a number of courses accredited by the CMI including our undergraduate Business courses, an MBA and an MSc Engineering Management. Alongside your undergraduate degree you'll get a CMI Level 5 qualification in Management and Leadership, and alongside your Masters you’ll get a CMI Level 7 qualification in Strategic Management and Leadership – both of which are industry-recognised and a fast-track route toward Chartered Manager status. You’ll have free CMI Membership throughout your studies, giving you access to a range of resources including a mentoring service and UK networking events.

Solicitors Regulation Authority

The Solicitors Regulation Authority has a statutory duty to ensure that those who are admitted as solicitors have the knowledge and skills necessary for practice. They do this by specifying the education and training that an individual must complete. With Arden, you can complete the academic stage of education and training by taking the LLB (Hons) Qualifying Law Degree via Blended or distance learning. This is recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board - the body that set the education and training requirements for becoming a barrister and regulate barristers and their professional conduct - and covers the key pillars of legal knowledge needed to progress to the Vocational stage of training.

UCAS

The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) is the central organisation through which applications are processed for entry to higher education in the UK. It is an independent charity providing information, advice, and admissions services to inspire and facilitate educational progression. Their services support young people making choices after their GCSEs, as well as those applying for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Arden University is a UCAS registered University, code R25.
