Description
Students on this programme will follow courses on business organisation, management and strategy and courses on the legal framework within which businesses function. This programme is supported by current examples of everyday legal issues confronting firms, as these are shaped by the changing demands of modern businesses. The law courses are chosen with regard to those outlined in the International Qualifying Scheme of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
Students are trained to work broadly within modern international business but they will develop specific analytical skills allowing them to understand and raise awareness of complex legal issues such as intellectual property, company formation and structure, employment rights and international trade. Particular emphasis is given to the role of the courts, governments and international agents in the development of the law regulating the global business environment and multinational enterprises.
Topics covered in the classroom and independent learning enable you to develop valuable communication skills, master your confidence and get ideas across professionally.
Direct entry to Year 2 or 3 is available for qualified applicants. Students on this programme may apply to participate in overseas exchanges with our Erasmus partners.
The aims of the programme are:
- To understand the principle features of legal systems and central legal concepts, principles and rules;
- To understand aspects of the law as they apply to the corporate world
- To understand firms' internal processes and governance and their place in the global business environment.
