The Master in Energy, Natural Resources and the Environment (ENE) is one of the specialisations within the two-year MSc programme in Economics and Business Administration at NHH. After finishing the programme you will be awarded the title MSc in Economics and Business Administration.

The goal of the programme is to educate the next generation of interdisciplinary managers in the study of energy and natural resource development and environmental impact.

Future development and prosperity is largely dependent upon access to energy sources and secure reliable supplies of natural resources. Exploitation of these resources has an impact on the environment, and the balance between these is becoming a critical factor in the business world where business sustainability is increasingly defined by factors that go beyond a focus on purely short-term profits.

There can be few places better suited to studying matters related to energy, natural resources and the environment than Norway. As a country blessed with tremendous natural assets, Norway has achieved an enviable track record of developing these for economic gain, whilst preserving its environmental capital at the same time.

Admission is based on a university degree of at least three years of study beyond Norwegian minimum requirements for entrance to higher education (in Norway) with satisfactory results. Applicants' previous studies must contain a minimum of 50 % (90 ECTS) within economics and business administration (this can include, but not exclusively be made up of subjects like statistics or mathematics). In addition, we require that minimum 1/6 (30 ECTS) of previous studies are within business administration (which includes finance, accounting, strategy, marketing, statistics, mathematics etc, but not economics courses such as micro- or macroeconomics). We require a minimum score of 600 on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). The minimum requirement for the GRE test is 152 points (new scale) / 660 points (old scale) on the Quantative reasoning section. If English is not your mother tongue, you are required to prove your English proficiency by taking either a TOEFL or an IELTS test. For the TOEFL test a score of at least 575 points on the written test, 233 on the computer-based version or 90 points on the internet based test, are required. The minimum score requirement on the IELTS is 6.5. Exemptions from the TOEFL/IELTS requirement may be considered if you can document that the medium of your higher education has been English for two years or more.
