Graduates of this programme are well-equipped to pursue doctoral studies or enter the workforce in academia, healthcare, or the biotechnology sector, contributing to advancements in understanding human health and developing innovative therapeutic strategies. With a strong international orientation and a focus on multidisciplinary collaboration, the Master's in Molecular Medicine prepares students to become future leaders in biomedical research and medicine.
Educational organisation
Throughout the first year (Master's programme), current topics in Molecular Medicine are taught by internationally renowned scientists in a comprehensive lecture series within three modules. Within these modules students carry out three independent research projects (lab rotations) of eight weeks each in participating laboratories, including local research labs of the Max Planck Society (MPI) and the German Primate Center (DPZ). The results of these projects are presented and discussed in seminars.Students who have passed the examinations of the modules of the first year with good or excellent results qualify for direct admission to the three-year doctoral programme Molecular Medicine without being required to complete a Master's thesis first.

The aim of the programme is to provide an intensive, research-oriented education in an excellent research environment, in which students deepen and expand their knowledge, skills and abilities gained in their previous Molecular Medicine-/Molecular Biology-oriented graduate studies. The programme is intended to qualify students for a PhD programme in Life Sciences or a career in industry or science management.Language requirements
Applicants who are not native speakers of English should demonstrate adequate competence in the English language by acceptable results in an internationally recognised test (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, APIEL, CPE). Participation in such a test is recommended but not mandatory, as language skills can also be evaluated during the personal interviews with selected candidates. Proven higher education in English or a reasonably long stay in an English-speaking country is also acceptable.German skills are recommended.
Academic requirements
Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in molecular medicine, biology, biochemistry, or related fields (not medicine). For further details, see: http://www.uni-goettingen.de/en/41166.html.
