As part of the elective selections, students must develop a three-course (9-credit) concentration in a substantive policy area. The Bloustein faculty is recognized for its policy expertise in community development and social policy, along with the other areas of concentration. Students also may design their own concentrations, and do so frequently.

The Bloustein School offers many opportunities for funding and support to qualified students in its graduate urban planning, public policy and doctoral programs. Merit-based aid is awarded to students in several forms, as described below. Financial aid packages may be for a single year, or multiyear, and may combine university, school, and outside sources.

To apply, make sure you check off your interest in financial aid on your graduate admissions online application prior to sending. There is NO separate application required for most of these awards below. For continuing students, a separate application process is conducted in the spring of each year. Students are notified of this process by internal communication.
