Accounting and Bookkeeping

This qualification reflects the occupation roles of workers within the accounting business, including BAS Agents and contract bookkeepers; and most of course the employees performing bookkeeping tasks for organisations in a range of businesses. It features preparing and lodging business and instalment activity statements, and providing advice or dealing with the Commissioner for a taxpayer with regard to activity statements. Individuals in those roles employ theoretical and expert understanding and expertise to work properly, and physical exercise judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities.Licensing/Regulatory InformationWork works in the occupational areas where this qualification might be used are subject to regulatory requirements. Check with the FNS Financial Services Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the relevant ruler for certain assistance with requirements.Persons giving a small business activity statement (BAS) service for a commission or other reward has to be enrolled by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and also this qualification is now cited as fulfilling with the TPB instruction requirements for registration. Other conditions apply, including a designated period of experience. Persons searching BAS broker registration should check current registration requirements with all the TPB, as registration requirements are examined regularly.
