This qualification reflects the occupation functions of workers from the accounting industry, including BAS Agents and contract bookkeepers; rather than the employees performing bookkeeping tasks for organisations in a range of industries. It features preparing and lodging industry and instalment activity statements, and providing advice or addressing the Commissioner on behalf of a citizen in relation to actions statements. Individuals in those functions apply theoretical and expert understanding and expertise to work properly, and training decision in completing routine and non-routine activities.Licensing/Regulatory InformationWork works in the occupational areas where this eligibility may be utilized are subject to specific regulatory requirements. Consult with the FNS Financial Services Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the appropriate ruler for certain guidance on requirements.Persons supplying a business activity statement (BAS) service for a commission or other reward must be registered by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and also this eligibility is currently cited as fulfilling the TPB instruction requirements for registration. Other conditions apply, including a predetermined amount of experience. Persons searching BAS agent registration should check current registration requirements with the TPB, as registration requirements are assessed regularly.
