Social and environmental issues are reshaping businesses around the globe, making sustainable business practice a major part of the way they operate. In a world first, USQ has developed a bachelor-level accounting degree designed around the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the international standard for business sustainability reporting. In an age of carbon taxes, and cap and trade schemes, this program provides you with the knowledge to transition businesses into the low carbon global economy.

Through the degree you will gain the skills to manage the technical aspects of the economic, social and environmental impacts of business activities – the Triple Bottom Line (TBL).

The accounting courses provide a knowledge-base in financial accounting, management accounting, business law and finance. The sustainable business courses provide the knowledge and skills you require to meet the needs of organisations to strategically manage and report their environmental and social impacts on the community, as well as provide them with an understanding of the principles and practices associated with carbon accounting and carbon tax/emissions trading systems.

In addition, the degree provides you with the necessary broad-based administrative and management skills required by organisations to compete in the global economic environment.
