Description

Our BA Acting provides you with a thorough preparation for a career in acting. We develop your individual talent, extending your existing skills in voice and movement for professional life. Our curriculum consists of acting, voice, singing, movement and contextual studies.

At the end of your final year, you have the opportunity to take part in a showcase performance at a major West End theatre for an invited audience of agents, casting directors and film, TV and theatre directors. Our course is accredited by the National Council for Drama Training.

Why study BA Acting at Essex?

Our East 15 Acting School has trained actors, directors, producers and theatre technicians for stage, TV, film and radio for almost 50 years. Our dedicated approach to teaching and support was reflected in our ninth placing in the UK in the 2012 National Student Survey.

Our work is based on Joan Littlewood’s famed Theatre Workshop but we are international in our outlook, regarding ourselves as a bridge between the best of British and worldwide performance traditions. We are also a member of the leading group of UK conservatoires, the Conference of Drama Schools, with many of our courses accredited by the National Council for Drama Training (NCDT).
