The Master's programme in Actuarial Science and Mathematical Finance is the only MSc programme in the Netherlands completely dedicated to the actuarial profession.

If you wish to pursue a career as an actuary designing and monitoring financial security systems, then this is the right MSc programme for you. It is a multidisciplinary programme that provides balanced and rigorous training in the financial and mathematical analysis of complex challenges in modern assurance. The programme focuses on mathematical model building in the various specialised fields of insurance: life insurance, non-life insurance and pension funds. You will learn about the latest international developments in the field, such as modern valuation and capital management techniques, longevity risk and Solvency II. You will be taught not only by leading academics in the field of Actuarial Science and Mathematical Finance, but also by several experts and practitioners working in the financial and insurance industries. This ensures that you will have access to the field's most up-to-date techniques, practices and insights.

    Grade list: A certified grade list(s) is considered in the evaluation. Previous education: Applicants holding a Bachelor's or Master's degree in actuarial sciences, econometrics, operational research or in another quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics or physics are eligible to apply for the programme. In addition to sufficient background knowledge of mathematics, students must have a solid grasp of statistics, including some knowledge of econometrics. Students should also have taken courses covering investments and portfolio theory.
