We designed this course for health professionals who specialise in paediatrics.

It is for health professional working across different settings, including:

* the acute sector
* child development centres
* schools-based services
* specialised regional units.

You work towards an MSc in advancing paediatric practice in physiotherapy, occupational therapy or nursing.

An interprofessional team deliver the course. The taught sessions are generic but supplemented by student-directed learning in your field.

We designed the assignments for each module to allow you to explore how you can apply your learning to clinical practice in your own discipline and in your chosen sub speciality of paediatrics.

You explore and develop:

* evidence-based practice
* advanced clinical decision making
* ethical and socially inclusive practice.

The course enhances professional and academic development. It develops the essential skills required for graduates to follow careers in research, lecturing and the emerging clinical specialist and consultant in your discipline.

You must normally * have a degree or equivalent professional qualification, and be registered with the Health Professions Council or Nursing and Midwifery Council * have at least 1000 hours of post qualification clinical practice relevant to paediatric careYou also need to satisfy the admissions team of your ability to complete the course by demonstrating * a commitment to working in a multidisciplinary team within paediatric care and rehabilitation * specialist subject knowledge and understanding relating to your normal area of practice using an evidence-based approach to healthcare delivery * an ability to reflect on and demonstrate learning from your own experiences in professional practice * understanding of the perspectives of the service user and their carers * effective verbal and non verbal communication skills showing engagement with the healthcare delivery team * good written skills * the ability to apply reflective and analytical skills to your/others work * basic skills in information technology * self-motivation to complete independent study at postgraduate levelInternational studentsYou must have an IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent.
