Offered through Communications and Agricultural Education, this masters of science degree in Agricultural Education and Communication fits the mission of discovery of knowledge, the education of graduate students and the improvement in the quality of life for those we serve. Graduates of this program will include professionals charged with educating the public regarding the breadth and depth of the agricultural industry and those responsible for communicating that information to specific audiences in the agricultural industry as well as the general public.

For students who seek a greater focus on developing their skills in research or those who are interested in continuing their education through doctoral study, a thesis option is offered. For students who prefer to focus on expanding their technical knowledge with a decreased emphasis on research, a nonthesis report option is also available.

The curriculum entails a core of courses in research methods and the philosophical contexts and theoretical foundations of the respective fields of interest. In addition, students pursuing the thesis option supplement this core with coursework in data analysis and thesis research. Students pursuing the report option complete a creative component. The balance of coursework in the thesis option includes 12 hours of elective courses, while project option students complete 21 hours of electives.

Students interested in the Master of Science in Academic Advising program must apply to the K-State Graduate School and be admitted as degree-seeking students before enrolling in classes. Admission decisions will be based on a combination of factors, including prior academic achievement, the nature of a students academic preparation, and the relatedness of the programs offering to a students goals. In general, a student with a bachelors degree with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 from an accredited institution can expect to be admitted to the masters degree program.Students who have completed only a bachelors degree and have a cumulative grade point average below a 3.0 are required to submit current Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) scores. Students may not enroll in classes as a nondegree K-State Global Campus student.Domestic Students A $50 non-refundable application fee is required. * Graduate Assistantships: Funded by individual departments and graduate programs, teaching, research and graduate assistantships are awarded based on a student's ability and promise.

* Loans: Loans are available to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who have successfully applied for financial assistance
* Traineeships: Traineeships are offered through the university or departments that have federally supported traineeships.
