This amount is intended to prepare students for the professional areas of finance and bookkeeping, with a strong technical focus and insight in to the global and institutional features of financial systems. Finance is the analysis of banking institutions, markets and instruments, in addition to money, banking, investment and the control of risk. Accounting involves the financial measurement of economic activity and using financial advice for making economic decisions. Finance and accounting are all closely related and are critical to industry and commerce. This amount is organised with implemented finance as the core area, with bookkeeping related topics covered in both core and elective units. A specialisation in finance coupled with a bookkeeping qualification will broaden graduate livelihood opportunities and equip graduates with key skills to flourish in a selection of professional areas.

The BAppFin&Acc contains a sequence of accounting units which meets CAANZ and CPAA accreditation requirements.

  • Present school-leavers: conclusion of the same of the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) examination in Australia or New Zealand, achieving a degree equivalent to an indicative ATAR score of 50. Non-school leavers: conclusion of the HSC (or equivalent) with a minimum ATAR of 50 (or equivalent) within two years prior to application
  • Conclusion of a tertiary preparation course from the qualified provider
  • Or conclusion of at least one session of fulltime analysis (or Part Time equivalent) at a registered Australian higher education provider at AQF Level 5 (Diploma) or higher
