This course is for graduates who have completed our University Certificate in Psychology for Graduates course or University Certificate in Psychology for Graduates (By Distance Learning) course or who have obtained 60 credits in biological, cognitive, developmental, personality and social psychology and research methods (including statistics) with another institution.
It is designed for graduates who wish to become professional, chartered psychologists and covers the British Psychological Societys GBC (graduate basis for chartered membership) curriculum.
Career opportunities
This course is designed specifically for graduates from other disciplines who have already obtained 60 credits in psychology and who wish to gain BPS accreditation and progress to other postgraduate programmes in professional areas of psychology.
Course Structure
Core modules:
* Cognitive and Developmental Psychology;
* Individual Differences and Social Psychology;
* Psychobiology and Psychological Research Methods
Option modules
* Clinical, Health and Counselling Psychology;
* Forensic Psychology; Business, Consumer and Occupational Psychology
Students will also carry out an independent empirical research project on a topic of their choice and write it up in a dissertation
Assessment
Assessments are made through essays, practical reports, dissertation and end-of-module examinations.
