Within this course you'll get the vital skills and knowledge required to succeed as a professional surveyor. RMIT provides the only undergraduate doctorate amount in Victoria. It is licensed with local and international surveying businesses and thoroughly prepares one to enter the profession. The first two years cover general aspects of surveying and mapping. You'll also study specific fields such as cadastral and engineering surveying, GPS positioning, geodesy, questionnaire system design, property development and subdivision, geographical information systems, remote sensing, and photogrammetry, ecological studies, professional training and company studies. The level focuses on practical skills through field exercises, survey camps, and 12 weeks of expertise before graduation. Surveyors practise in a range of areas including engineering and mining surveying, topographical and cadastral surveying, hydrographic surveying, property development and photogrammetry.

The program is externally accredited through the Surveyors Registration Board of Victoria. Which means that the Board has identified it as one of many credentials that contributes to registration as a Licensed Surveyor in Victoria, Australia. The Board can also be a part of the Council of Reciprocating Surveyors Boards of Australia and New Zealand. Since 1892 the Council was overseeing the reciprocal comprehension of surveyor licensing between Australian states and territories and New Zealand. Graduates are eligible to apply for membership of The Institution of Surveyors Victoria along with also the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute. The application has international certification with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors that also welcomes pupils to membership of the Institute. The application is also licensed by the Land Surveyors Board of Malaysia as a recognised qualification.

  • Year 12 requisite units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 20 in a single Methods (any) or Specialist Mathematics
  • Plus also a study score of at least 25 in any English (except EAL) or at least 30 in English (EAL).
