Assessing acting at WAAPA can be an inspirational and all-consuming experience. This amount produces graduates who are ready for a career in a wide variety of media, including theater, tv, film and radio, both in Australia and internationally. The course has evolved since a comprehensive conservatoire training program directed by a doctrine of detection, program and embodiment, delivered at all times in an eclectic and inclusive environment. The core innovation of the program will be always to unite rigorous skills-based actor training with local, national and global guest directors and organisations, to simulate real-life industry programs and productions. The combination of all these factors means that students graduate with more than just acting skills; they are self-determined, autonomous strategists who are high quality and high performers at the top of their game.

University admission requirements apply. All applicants have to go to an audition. Entrance into this course is talent-based, and prospective students will be assessed through an iterative procedure which is held in November-December annually. Australia-wide auditions are conducted in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Australian pupils are appraised by auditions delivered electronically. The audition contains a thorough assessment of underlying and trainable ability, the capacity to fit the technical requirements of the course and suitability for the business.
