Students develop their capacity for critical analysis, creativity and problem-solving, in addition to a thorough comprehension of the connection between theory, research and practice. They select from a wide assortment of major study locations, equipping them to get diverse careers in areas such as media, management, finance, education and government. A key component of the level may be your Grand Challenges final-year job. Founded in cooperation with the Swinburne Institute of Social Research, the job fosters team-based research activity and challenges students to rise above the comfort of field boundaries. Students develop valuable collaborative skills because they explore innovative methods to contemporary issues facing society. The class offers students lifelong learning skills using a global and multidisciplinary awareness.

Graduates of This Digital Advertising Technology major will be eligible for membership of the Australasian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA). Candidates of the Journalism major will qualify to apply for membership of the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA).

  • Successful completion of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or its equivalent, such as an interstate or global Year 12 qualification. VCE prerequisites: Units 3 and 4: the absolute minimum study score of 25 in English (or equivalent) or even 30 in English (EAL). Supplemental performance criteria and requirement requirements can also apply. English language requirements - satisfactory conclusion of a few of the following: Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 advanced level degree ) with overall 65 percent, all skills 65 percent
  • Minimum IELTS overall band of 6.0 (Academic Module) with no single band below 6.0
  • TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 75 having a hearing band no less than 18 and writing band no less than 20
  • Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 50 (no communicative skills less than 50)
  • every other equivalent examination of English language proficiency. Note: A necessity for a lot of courses, the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) can now be done on campus at Hawthorn.
