For example an RMIT Bio Medical Science student you are going to see about the body and how it functions and responds to various diseases, diet, exercise, inner workings and environmental influences. This flexible degree will let you come up with a broad understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology in cellular to systems level. You may see about the functions played by different cell types, neuroscience, cancer, DNA profiling, genetic engineering and using stem cells. You will have the opportunity to select specialist electives in your past year and find an understanding of the study process, in addition to gain experience with the contemporary technologies found in biomedical research. Additionally, there are opportunities within the degree of study abroad or to get international experience. The training program is an ideal preparation for grad entry into health sciences programs such as medicine, physiotherapy, and dentistry, allowing you to meet all essential prerequisites.

Based on the courses chosen in the final year of Analysis along with Fulfilling specific criteria, students Will be eligible to apply for membership of the following societies: Ausbiotech; Australasian Society for Human Biology (ASHB); Australian and New Zealand Society for Cell and Developmental Biology (ANZSCDB); Australian Association of Clinical Biochemists (AACB); Australian Physiological Society (AuPS); Australian Society for Medical Research (ASMR); Australian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB); Genetics Society of Australia (GSA); Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA); Mutagenesis and Experimental Pathology Society of Australia (MEPSA).

  • Units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 20 at Chemistry and at among Mathematics (any) or Physics
