Business Informatics is about empowering enterprises by utilizing advantages of existing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions, creating and introducing new ICT solutions corresponding to ever changing needs of the enterprises. The study program welcomes students who are interested in systemic, integrated view on business and ICT.
The aim of the study programme Business Informatics is to prepare professionals who master systems thinking and engineering sciences; who are able to use, choose, develop, and acquire ICT solutions that enable enterprise development; who can design intra- and inter-organizational information systems; and are capable of participating in corresponding inter-disciplinary and international projects.
Study program graduates will be able to:
o Model and analyze business processes, enterprise architecture, and information flows.
o Assess, suggest, implement and use advanced ICT solutions.
o Align business strategies and the newest developments in ICT.
o Develop enterprise ICT improvement programs; plan, manage, and lead change management projects.
o Follow and promote scientific and industrial development of innovative ICT solutions.
o Motivate and train employees to use the most appropriate ICT solutions.
o Lead inter-disciplinary teams and international projects.
o Follow rules of ethics in business and information systems development.
The study programme Business Informatics consists of courses in systems and sciences, business process, requirements, and service engineering, business analytics and portfolio management as well as other subjects relevant for integrated enterprise and ICT development. Some of the compulsory subjects of the curriculum are as follows*:
o Systems Theory
o Business Process Management and
Engineering
o Service Science, Management and
Engineering
o Quality, Risk and Security Technologies
o Advanced Data Technologies
o Portfolio Management Technologies
o E-Business solutions
o Requirements Engineering
Compulsory subjects are accompanied by limited choice courses from the following groups of courses:
o Networking
o Specific software applications
o Enterprise Information Systems
o Business and Education
By choosing, from above mentioned groups, courses Networking Technologies in Education; Software Applications in Education; E-Services in Education and Science; and Basics of Pedagogical Process students have an opportunity to specialize in Educational
Informatics.
