Genetic and molecular basis of neural diseases, molecular and cell biology of neurons and glia, sensory systems neuroscience, neurophysiology, neurochemistry and neurotransmitters, cellular and molecular mechanisms of learning and memory, neural plasticity and neuroregeneration, developmental neurobiology, behavioral neuropharmacology, microscopy and cell imaging techniques.

 

Target audience: Applicants for the masters program must have a first degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, biomedical sciences, medicine or a related field. The program aims at students who have a strong interest in neuroscience and neural disease.

Applicants must provide proof of their English skills. (TOEFL, IELTS,…)

 

Scholarships are available for excellent international students.

 

The Graduate School of Cellular & Molecular Neuroscience provides a research-oriented training. The curriculum includes two internships of 7 and 9 weeks, where students have the opportunity to get in contact with the research groups at the Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research (HIH), the German Centre for Neurodegenerative Disease (DZNE), the Center for Integrative Neuroscience (CIN), the Natural and Medical Science Institute (NMI) and the University of Tübingen (Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Science).
