Assessment

Students are assessed throughout the taught modules of the programme using a variety of techniques and interrelated strategies including evidence of regular reflection. Demonstration of active participation in the programme will be required. There may also be a requirement for the students to take part in peer review of other students.

Applications are invited from Specialty Registrars (ST6 or above) or equivalent, and newly appointed consultants.

Successful applicants will work as senior clinical fellows in the Cambridge intensive care units for the duration of their studies. If you are not currently employed by CUH or Papworth Hospitals, you should apply for a Senior Clinical Fellow post in intensive care medicine. Posts will be reserved for successful MSt applicants and further information will be available soon.

Applicants to the programme are normally expected to a hold a 2.i degree or higher from a UK university or an equivalent from an overseas university. There is provision to accept applicants who do not satisfy the standard academic criterion. Such applicants must produce evidence of relevant and equivalent experience and their suitability for the course.

All applicants to the programme are required to demonstrate competency in English at a high level before commencing the programme (IELTS Academic test scores of: overall band score of 7.5, with not less than 7.0 in speaking, listening, writing and reading). The language requirements will be reviewed in light of changes to the General Medical Council’s English language requirements.
