USQ’s Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Business Law is a career-oriented degree designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge in legal matters for your chosen profession. You will start your Business Law specialisation (major) in your first year and have numerous opportunities to put your learning into practice. You also have the option to choose a second major from a range of business, commerce and arts courses to shape the career you want and strengthen your position.

All businesses operate within a comprehensive, and often increasingly complex, legal framework. By specialising in Business Law, you will gain an appreciation of these laws, but you will also develop the skills needed to examine the facts, analyse statutory provisions, develop arguments based on legal principles, and communicate these effectively.

If you are looking to practise law, you need to study a Bachelor of Laws. However, if you would like to strengthen your knowledge of the running of major companies and the legal framework involved with their success, you would be well-advised to include Business Law in your Bachelor of Commerce, which you can do as a first or second major.
