The entire world is an ever more complicated location, and in desperate need of smart young minds who is able to help the others make sense of this. This class can provide students with the skills and skill to sift fact from fiction in the contemporary media environment, and to share with stories in advanced techniques to engage the 21st century news consumer. Students will learn how to organize and present news through many different social stations and over internet, broadcast and print platforms. They'll build their production skills through hands on knowledge in worldclass facilities and donate to QUT News and other outlets. Teaching staff include working professionals and internationally renowned scholars of both science and science studies. Students may also pursue work experience through industry internships and worldwide exchanges.
Journalism: Australian Journalists' Association (AJA) section of the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA).
- Year 12 or equivalent
- Assumed knowledge: English, or Literature, or English and Literature, or English as Another Language (Units 3 & 4, C).
