The objective of the MSc Corporate Finance is to provide graduates of the programme with the skill to contribute immediately in the corporate finance industry. As a participant on the programme the focus throughout is on developing your analytical and professional skills, culminating in a real life corporate finance consultancy project.
The programme has been designed in conjunction with an industry programme board to ensure it meets the corporate finance skills needs of employers. Upon successful completion of the MSc Corporate Finance, you can expect to have excellent career prospects with business advisory, consultancy, corporate, investment banking and venture capital firms.
The first round closing date is the 30th April, 2011 for EU applicants. If your application is successful at this stage you will receive an offer or (if you have not yet received your final exam results) a conditional offer. If you meet the application requirements but the programme is full you will be placed on the waiting list. Students on this waiting list get priority over later applicants.
If your application misses the first deadline the second round closing date is 1st June, 2011 (for EU Applicants). If the programme has not been filled in the first round, or by the first round waiting list, and your application is successful you will receive an offer or a conditional offer. If you meet the application requirements but the programme is full you will be placed on the waiting list.
Induction Week
Focus on Team Building, IT, Communication and Presentation Skills.
Core Modules (30 credits)
Valuation and Financial Statement Analysis; Project Finance; Capital Markets; International financial Management; Investments. Case Study driven with regular student presentations.
Specialized Modules (25 credits)
Corporate Risk Management; Corporate Restructuring; Corporate Governance and Regulation; Private Equity. Lecture driven with student analysis using IT systems.
Corporate Finance and Industry Leader Lecture Series (5 credits)
Weekly session chaired by industry professional. Student groups host sessions. Student groups present case study solution. Industry professional gives feedback.
Integrated Research Project (30 credits)
Supervised by academic and business mentor. Student groups initiate, research and provide a business solution to a real life Corporate Finance issue. Output to include a detailed report and presentation to the client.
Lectures take place from 10.00 to 12.00 and 14.00 to 16.00 Monday to Wednesday. MSc Corporate Finance students tutor undergraduates on Thursdays. Business Leader Series takes place on Fridays from 14.00 to 16.00.
