Students of the amount research how people communicate and study information in visually accessible ways and produce a more wellrounded understanding of the theory and practice of communication design. The course explores both a traditional print-based design perspective and something that covers on-line programs and new technologies. The degree has a strong focus on communicating in the worldwide market place and how to design for both consumer and business audiences around different ethnic contexts. Students graduate with a thorough understanding of typography, logotype design, layout, novel design, environmental graphics, packaging and electronic layout. Students will: Use innovative utilization of different visual and emerging media classes across printing, screen and packaging; develop effective design solutions for particular audiences; benefit fluency from the visual vocabulary and technical skills applicable to visual communication design; and develop image-making expertise and the ability to create visual design artefacts using a selection of analogue and electronic networking.
