Our MSc Economics and Finance takes a sophisticated look at micro and macroeconomics and the methodology of econometric research. It builds on this essential knowledge with modules such as International Business Finance and Financial Derivatives.

You will acquire a solid grounding in corporate finance and financial economics tools commonly used in financial services and quantitative investment analysis and research.

Our MSc Economics and Finance Masters programme is recognised by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). This means you may be able to obtain funding for the Masters if you have already negotiated a PhD place, please see scholarships for more information.

You will be taught by a highly qualified teaching staff with research and consultancy expertise in economics and finance. We take an open-minded approach to economic problems, and draw on expertise from one of the major hubs of heterodox economics research in the country. This is a particularly appealing part of the programme for students seeking a career in the post-financial-crisis era, in which some previously held conventional wisdom has come under criticism.
