This program motivates students to work with kids aged 6 to 12 years (Grades 1-6) and across all key school program areas. Students may tackle the application either on-campus or via outside (on the web ) study. The professional experience component is an essential portion of the program and analyzes the context, purposes and processes of education from schools. This course includes specialisations rather than majors.

- Year 12 or equivalent
- English (Units 3/4,C)
- General maths or mathematical methods or specialist maths (Components 3/4,C)
- A general science subject. All students need to fulfill minimum literacy criteria as needed by the Queensland College of Teachers
- Plus Suitability to Work with Children Card (Blue Card) from the Queensland Family and Child Commission.Applicants without a C-grade in Science could take ED0195:03 Bridging Science for Teachers at JCU before commencing study.
