Description
In coming years, school districts face a projected shortage of executive level school administrators and leaders. The Leadership in Educational Administration Doctorate Program at the University of Floridas College of Education is dedicated to filling the projected leadership gap by educating skilled professionals in school administration.
A school administrator has a vital influence on the lives of children. Academic training and practical application are essential in the educational experience of school leaders. Innovative in design, the LEAD Program assists leaders in meeting the states current and future state, local and national administrative needs.
The School of Human Development and Organizational Studies in Education (HDOSE) in the College of Education is dedicated to developing and improving leadership in a variety of educational settings, and among diverse populations. We expect our graduates to be technologically competent, to believe in the worth of human learning and to advocate for the needs of students. Our graduates respect the needs of all people to continue learning, and they demonstrate the value of collaboration and reflective practice in the day-to- day pursuit of their professional responsibilities.

Requirements
- A bachelors, masters or doctoral degree from an accredited United States college or university or a degree deemed equivalent by the University of Florida Office of Admission is required. Other requirements include:
- A minimum grade point average of 3.0 upper-division (last 60 credits) undergraduate work.
- An acceptable grade point average for previous graduate work.
- An acceptable score on the General Test of the Graduate Records Examination (GRE).
All candidates for the Ed.S., Ed.D. and Ph.D., degree programs may be subject to a personal interview for further evidence of program fit and scholarly potential.

Course content and delivery varies by professor, but most courses are managed through an online Learning Management System. Some professors use web conferencing with their students during the class sessions. This is done through a program called Chat Room, Moodle and or audio/video conference. To participate in class sessions students will need to have administrative privileges on their machine to download software required for the program. A high-speed Internet connection is strongly recommended.
