Total core components on your first year to help out with selecting majors in science and engineering. Obtain theoretical and practical engineering knowledge by participating in workshops and industry endeavors to organize for roles in your chosen field across a variety of industries. A distinctive feature of the course is the practical application of knowledge through project-based components of analysis. Tailor your degree and create a special assortment of unique skills. Employ your learning in a professionally focused, multidisciplinary job throughout your previous year of analysis. Undertake a minimum of 12 weeks of relevant professional experience.

Graduates are entitled to apply for graduate membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.

  • Year 12 or equivalent
  • VCE prerequisites: Units 3 and 4: the absolute minimum study score of 25 in English (or equivalent) or 30 in English (EAL)
  • And Components 4 and 3: a minimum study score of 20 in Mathematical procedures. Additional performance criteria and prerequisite requirements can also apply. English language requirements - adequate completion of one of the following: Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced degree ) with overall 65 percent, all skills 65 percent
  • Minimum IELTS overall band of 6.0 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0
  • TOEFL iBT (web-based ) minimum score of 75 with a reading band a minimum of 18 and writing band a minimum of 20
  • Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 50 (no real skills less than 50)
  • every other equivalent assessment of English language competence. Note: A prerequisite for several courses, the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) can currently be done online campus at Hawthorn.
