Science students at UNB Saint John can pursue a bachelor of science (BSc.) with a major or honours in biology. Students with good grades from UNB or elsewhere may also pursue postgraduate research and training in biology at both the MSc and PhD levels in Saint John. The campus offers a choice of general studies or zoology. Each is based on a set of required courses plus a number of electives. We emphasize whole organism biology and ecology.Environmental biology is an interdisciplinary science because the solutions to environmental problems lie at the intersection of human behaviour, technology and the biology of living organisms. Environmental biology students at UNB Saint John will take courses in chemistry, economics, environmental law, sociology, as well as more traditional biology courses in ecology, conservation biology and ecotoxiocology.
