Your First Two Years
Begin your undergraduate degree exploring your academic interests and finding new ones. In your first two years, you can study in any faculty at Western or another recognized university. This opportunity to learn and grow ensures you and your HBA classmates bring diverse and more experienced perspectives to your business education.
HBA 1
Your first year in the Ivey HBA Program (HBA 1) is typically your third year of university. You work with the same classmates, in the same classroom, with a dedicated faculty team. You cover the essentials of what every good manager needs to know and be able to do. Career management is also built into the curriculum to help you define your career goals and develop job search strategies to get you there.
HBA 2
In your second year at Ivey (HBA 2) you build strength from the foundational business knowledge and skills developed during your first year. A wide range of elective courses in HBA 2 allows you to design a personalized program of study to round out your business management education and complement your career objectives.
Requirements
- Demonstrated leadership in extracurricular activities, community involvement and/or work experience
- Approximately a 90% average in your final year of secondary school
- Completion of a mathematics course for university-bound students
- Apply for admission to Western or one of its affiliated university colleges through the Ontario Universities Application Centre
- Complete Years 1 & 2 at Western
- or Complete Years 1 & 2 at Western or Another University
- Maintain a full course load over two years of university study
- Complete a secondary school mathematics course
- Complete Western’s Business 2257 course or equivalent
- Strong academic performance in full-time studies at the university level for two years (80% average is competitive)
- Minimum 70% in Western’s Business 2257 course or equivalent
- TOEFL (minimum internet-based score of 83)
- IELTS (minimum score of 6.5)
- MELAB (minimum score of 80)
- One copy of their study permit
- One official certified transcript from each foreign institution with English translations

Tuition Fees
- Year 1 (Arts, Social Science) $22,817.00
- Year 2 (Arts, Social Science) $21,972.00
- Year 3 (HBA Year 1) $35,906.00

NOTE: Does not include ancillary fees
Other Fees
There are additional ancillary fees of approximately $1,700 per year. Tuition is due in full by mid-August or students can opt to pay in two instalments. If paying in instalments, then 50% of total fees is due by mid-August and the remaining 50% is due in December.
You will need to purchase a notebook computer before the start of HBA 1 classes. If you need help on the details and specifications of different models, please contact Ivey IT Center. You will also need course materials for the Ivey HBA Program which will amount to approximately $3,000 - $3,500 for each year.
