The programme was developed and delivered by four European universities in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Sweden. They are members of the Euroleague for Life Sciences and all among the best in their field in Europe. Students obtain a double degree upon completion of their studies at two universities.

This Masters programme is designed to give insights into European principles used in all aspects of the environmental management of European ecosystems. As a consequence, graduates from the programme are able to identify and solve problems related to natural resource management in Europe in a professional way.

The two-year programme comprises four semesters. It consists of both compulsory and elective modules and a Masters thesis. This ensures a strong focus of each of the specialisations while leaving room for individual interest. At least one semester at one of the partner universities is obligatory:

* University of Copenhagen, Denmark
* Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden
* University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Austria

University of Hohenheim, Germany.The programme starts at the end of August with a compulsory one-week intensive introduction course in Copenhagen/Denmark, where the foundation for the compulsory e-learning Module Environmental Management in Europe is also laid. After the first two semesters students change to one of the partner universities to complete their advanced semester courses and the Masters thesis.

Upon completion of the study programme, graduates receive two full master degree certificates from the two universities they have studied at.
