NIDA's Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) equips students with the particular knowledge and skills to pursue careers as actors around the breadth of today's arts and entertainment industries - in main stage and younger independent theater companies, film, tv and commercial arenas. An emphasis on collaborative and self-directed work during the class prepares students to participate with a wide assortment of communities and also to begin their own creative opportunities. During practice-based learning, students develop technical skills in voice, acting, movement and music, acting for camera, mic technique and screen-related abilities. Students take part in classroom exercises, comprehensive scenework, rehearsals and full-scale productions since they explore their individual talents in order to find their personal artistic voice.
- Undergraduate applicants seeking Entrance must: Have reached the age of 18 before the commencement of the Class (in exceptional circumstances this may be waived)
- Hold a Higher School Certificate or its equivalent from any state or territory from Australia or overseas (in exceptional circumstances this may be waived)
- Be fluent in spoken and Adept in written English language (8.0 IELTS or equivalent for Acting, 7.0 IELTS or equivalent for other BFA courses for international students)
